Children will gather and listen to each other respectfully, taking turns while discussing topics concerning ethical or esthetic values. This will help them develop their natural inquisitiveness and make sense of their everyday life experiences. We will focus on building reasoning skills (i.e. claims are to be supported by evidence).
The students will learn to respect each other and deal with differences of opinion. We will work to develop in the children self esteem and the courage of their convictions which, in turn, helps them to overcoming shyness, aggression, and attention-grabbing behaviors. Class will be taught in French and English, Massene, a graduate of the University of Dakar, has been teaching Philosophy for children for the last 10 years and loves it. Children are, for him, budding thinkers and leaders.
