Over eighty guests attended ILA’s Bal Masqué this past March 9th, and by all accounts, everyone had a great time.
Cassandra Morrison coordinated a splendid music program. Guests rocked out to t jazz played by Hoghead Larry and the Rusty Nails, as well as to Cassondra’s tasty renditions of such popular favorites as “Hello Dolly” and “Putting on the Ritz.”
Thanks to our many generous donors, there was a wide variety of exciting auction items to bid on, including a week in a Paris apartment, an original print by Daumier, and a vacation in Bali. We met and exceeded our financial goal for the auction ($5,000), and so, by next year, every ILA student will have a computer available at school!
We are deeply grateful to our students’ parents, as well as to all the other friends of ILA, who worked so hard and then came out to party in support of our young school and its students. Some of the very hardest workers were Mike Schafir, Celeste Darling, Monique Dupré, Angela Mollet, and Heidi Smith. Very special thanks are due to Franco Capriotti, AAL, who very capably (and pro bono) filled the breach as our auctioneer after we lost the services of our originally scheduled auctioneer two days before the event.
