Nexplore Pottery offers a unique outlet for young artists to sculpt their ideas into one-of-a-kind creations, fostering self-expression and building confidence. Students learn to use their hands and sculpting tools to create pottery staples and imaginative projects like pinch pot monsters, pottery pets, and their favorite characters.

As they sculpt and paint, they develop transferable artistic skills such as conceptualizing, sketching, and refining their designs. Manipulating clay helps students understand that they can change something with their own hands and influence the outside world.

Through interactive games, catchy songs, and hands-on activities, students will begin building foundational vocabulary and conversational skills in a fun, supportive environment. Beyond the language itself, children will also explore elements of Chinese culture such as traditional stories, holidays, and customs that bring the language to life. This well-rounded approach helps students gain both confidence and cultural awareness while showing them that learning a new language can be an adventure.

Our very own English teacher, Teacher Scott, is back this session with his popular guitar class! Scott has a lifelong passion for music and often brings his guitar into the classroom at ILA, where he plays and sings with students. His class offers a fun, engaging way for children to begin learning guitar while building confidence and enjoying the joy of making music.

Families will be responsible for renting or purchasing a guitar. Both Scott and I will be happy to assist with any questions regarding size, strings, or brand recommendations. We strongly encourage instruments with nylon strings, as they are much easier for young musicians to play and master. There are many excellent and affordable options available online, including through Amazon.
