Curriculum

Daycare | La Crèche

La Crèche at ILA offers a nurturing and inclusive environment for infants and toddlers, providing a strong foundation for future learning. With small class sizes (4:1 ratio), certified teachers, and a French immersion program, children are supported in their developmental and linguistic growth. The program emphasizes a STE(A)M curriculum and prepares children for a seamless transition to Pre-K, all within a caring, family-like atmosphere.

Pre-K | La Maternelle

ILA's Pre-school program is designed to support the holistic development of young children as they begin their educational journey. Emphasizing both physical and cognitive growth, the program includes daily structured physical activities that promote healthy habits and gross motor skills. Children explore foundational concepts in mathematics, time, and space, while also developing fine motor skills and handwriting. Early literacy and French oral language are central to the curriculum, fostering communication skills and a love of learning. Through socialization and participation in school life, children develop positive behaviors towards learning and build essential social skills which prepare them for the next steps in their education.

Junior Kindergarten | Moyenne Section (MS)

Our Junior Kindergarten for 4-year-olds offers a holistic approach to early education. Children engage in hands-on activities that foster curiosity and learning across subjects like math, early literacy, and French and English language arts. They develop fine motor skills, explore time and space concepts, and participate in our Body in Motion program, which emphasizes physical activity, healthy habits, and social interaction. Through daily structured activities, children build a strong foundation for lifelong learning and well-being.

Kindergarten | Grande Section (GS)

For 5-year-olds, ILA offers a rich French immersion curriculum with daily English language arts and weekly Spanish and technology lessons. The program nurtures behavior towards learning, handwriting, drawing, physical activities, music, nature and science exploration, early literacy, and mathematical skills. This comprehensive approach ensures a well-rounded educational foundation, fostering growth in both cognitive and social areas.

1st and 2nd Grade | CP - CM2

Our French immersion program for 6- and 7-year-olds offers a well-rounded education with daily English language arts, weekly technology sessions, and P4C (Philosophy for Children) classes. The curriculum emphasizes French oral language, reading, writing, and poetry, alongside English language mastery. In mathematics, students explore numbers, geometry, and measurements. They discover the world through studies of landscapes, time, matter, and technology. Civics lessons foster responsible citizenship, while arts education includes music, artistic techniques, and cultural visits. The Body in Motion program enhances physical fitness, social skills, and lifelong healthy habits through varied activities.

3rd to 5th Grade | CP - CM2

This stage further immerses students in the French language while enriching their English language arts and a choice of Spanish, Arabic, or Chinese language studies. Students receive daily instruction in French which covers reading, writing, oral communication, and poetic expression. English language arts are taught for 60 minutes each day to ensure proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading. Students engage in 120 minutes of their chosen world language each week. The curriculum is rounded out with robust instruction in mathematics, science, technology, history, geography, civics, music, art, physical education, and wellness - all fostering well-rounded and responsible global citizens.
